"Twenty-five years ago, as a young midwifery student, I witnessed my first homebirth, and in
that moment, I felt a profound sense of belonging. I saw women birthing in their power and
autonomy and babies being born into the warmth of their family homes, welcomed with love
and familiarity, and often the quiet excitement of siblings close by.
I witnessed the sacred Mother Midwife relationship, one unlike any other: bonded by trust,
honesty and respect. For me, this was midwifery, with woman.
My philosophy is grounded in a deep knowing that every woman is unique, as is her journey
to birth and motherhood. Honouring this individuality through woman-centred care, rooted in
love, respect, clinical skill, and compassionate support, is not simply important; it is
essential. It lies at the very heart of my midwifery practice."
